This EXCELLENT Vintage, early 1950s, Stetson – SilverBelly – 7-1/8++ ton7-1/4. This is the vintage 10X Beaver! The Stetson hat box is NOT included in this sale. Before listing the hat we sent some pictures to one of Dads hat collectors and he bought it from Dad. So NO HAT BOX. This is an outstanding wide (3.3 inches) brim. We can always steam in a Cowboy Fedora, a pinched crown into this hat. If you look very closely at the “Last Drop” hat liner you should know that parts of that liner are actually embroidered into the satin liner! Maybe you can’t tell from the pictures? But it is! That’s what makes this liner so very unique and beautiful? This is one our favorites liner designs! This original 1950s Stetson Beaver is Very very soft and pliable, hold a shape just like you’d expect from these true vintage beaver Stetsons. This is a very soft, thick beaver and pliable material! After taking pictures outside we noticed that it needs a bit more steam shaping to sharpen it up. Dad will do that fine tuning this weekend. It’s going to look the same but with better, soft shape. Currently this is shapes as a standard classic cowboy shape. Bent brim and center dent. This is not one of Dad’s hats but actually belongs to his Grandson.After taking pictures outside we could see some built up dust still on it. Dad tried to clean up better with his stiffer horsehair brush but it’s still there. See pictures. One of Dads hat collectors thinks it maybe could be cleaned up better with one of those Orange Cleaning Sponges but Dad refuses to change the way he works hats! So we will not say it can be cleaned up better since we just don’t know if these work well or if that can be cleaned. It’s very minor and folks just won’t see it when it’s worn. Dad and Grandson always does their very best to make each hat as best as possible. Also Dad thinks by using that sponge it will be hiding something. There is a Single very tiny surface moth chew under the brim. See pictures. It’s very tiny and hard to see. Also please read condition. There was the starting of a split on the leather sweatband and the sewn joint looked weak. Just so NOTHING happens Dad use a piece of a Stetson leather sweatband and some Weldwood glue to re-enforce both of these places. This is not the strongest part of the leather sweatband. You won’t even know these are there. If you have any questions please write us. Ok now the particularsWe did find the size tag loose under the hat’s leather sweatband, size “1/8” which is a 7-1/8. But it’s measures to a size 7-1/8+++, just a fraction under a perfect 7-1/4. We know that there was NO hat sizing standardization back then but like always we measure each hat 3 times using different methods to verify the actual size! So currently it measures to a 71/8+++ at 22-1/4+ inches. (22-2/8++ inches) A perfect 71/8 is 22-3/8 inches and a perfect 7-1/4 is 22-3/4 inches. So it’s a fraction under a perfect 7-1/4. We use the Tilley hat size chart. This chart is still in use today. Length 14.9 inches Width 13 inches Height 5 inches, at the highest point Wide Brim width 3.3 inches Matching Grosgain ribbon 3/8 of an inch THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL HAT! Everyone will turn heads for this hat! We Carefully packaged and ships though Fedex.Local pickup is always free. Ship with Fedex or USPS priority mail, whichever arrives quickest. Both costs a couple dollars more but they are very reliable and they do not crush or damage boxes, also much faster shipping. Please read our very excellent feedback. Dad has collected hats for a lifetime and there are 100s of them, on shelves, stacked in closets and spare bedrooms.We are slowly listing these special hats weekly. We stand behind the eBay garentee and have NEVER had and issue with returns. We ask you to verify your hat size before you buy and we supply the maximum amount of pictures but if you need anything please write and ask. No Smoking – No PetsThank You NOTE: when we ship Dad’s hats out we use strong shipping boxes and each hat we ship is FULLY INSURED and we are no longer going to handle broken box insurance claims. We discovered that one buyer crushed their shipping box and asked for a hefty partial refund. The shipper sent us a picture of the box sitting at the front door and it was NOT CRUSHED? We also discovered that because we were NOT in possession of the box it was impossible for us to file the claim. So now and in the future all claims will be handled by the buyer of the hat or item we ship. Again we ALWAYS carefully pack each hat so it will not be crushed in a good strong shipping box. There are always some Bad Apples around who make everyone’s life impossible! It not fair to the rest of the GOOD FOLKS but it’s a fact of life these days!
