This Organic Mash Kit comes right out of the box with enough ingredients to make up to a 8% potential ABV for a 5 gallon volume. And as mentioned below, of course you can reuse the ingredients. 5 lbs of cracked corn5 lbs of pure sugar (dextrose corn sugar or cane depending on availability)1lbs of Crushed Barley1lb of Rye1 package of our proprietary “Outlaw” X yeast which yields a very clean high ABV alcohol1 package of our Amylase EnzymeInstructions for useWhat separates our kit from competitors selling the same blend? Our kit uses only the best organic corn, barley and rye. Now some sellers don’t care if pesticides go into their shine ingredients, but we do. We buy our corn directly from farmers right here in the delta from people who care about quality and source our other grains as close to the source as we can get. You wouldn’t add pesticides to your beer before fermentation or distillation, why would you want them added to the plants while they were growing? In this kit the total potential alcohol is 8 percent on a 5 gallon batch, right out of the box. (this can be increased if you wish to add more sugar) We have competitor selling a kit with 8lbs of corn, 1lb rye, 1lb barley, the potential will hit no more than 3-4 percent out of the box with no additions. I’ll let you do the math, but you get more ABV with our kit. And of course our grains can be reused as well if you wish to do so. Does this kit include Amylase? Enzymes are natural components that break down starches into fermentable sugars. Sure our 6 row barley has enough enzymes for converting most of the starches (just like our competitors). BUT, we have found we get more out of less when we use amylase, if you choose not to use it or prefer an out dated method, that’s up to you. But the option is there in our kits. What kind of yeast? We include our own proprietary yeast which yields a high clean alcohol volume. We don’t need to use something similar to what major corporations use, we have our own. If you wish to make something that tastes like a commercial brand, wouldn’t it be easier to just buy it? Completed product will require additional equipment, check local laws first.
