Both styles were originally made by Colt in the 1800’s, and both are historically correct. Whichever style you choose really depends on the look you are after. We manufacture both styles.Note: ANY of our grips, whether ONE-PIECE OR TWO PIECE style, will interchange and work on either style of grip frame.THIS AUCTION IS FOR THE ONE-PIECE (NO SCREWHOLE) STYLE.One-Piece grips use a spacer (user installed) between the panels instead of a screw, which results in a rock-tight fit. Our Two-Piece grips on the other hand come with a free Conversion Kit to enable use on your grip frame, without any modification of your revolver. These will be marked “Uberti,” and may also (but not necessarily) be marked by the U.S. importer, such as “Cimarron,” “Taylors & Co.”, “Navy Arms”, or “EMF”, etc. In addition to fitting any of the standard Uberti SAA style revolvers, our grips will fit any of the following:Uberti Revolvers: Cimarron / Uberti Cattleman, 1873 Cattleman II, Cimarron Model P, Evil Roy, El Patron, Hombre*, American Arms Regulator*, Cimarron New Sheriff, Uberti US 7th Cavalry, U.S.V. Artillery, and Cavalry Scout, Pistoleer, Holy Smoker, Wyatt Earp Buntline, Rooster Shooter, Chisholm, Cody, Desperado, Frisco, Old West, Stallion, Buntline, Horseman, SASS Pro, CMS Pro, E.M.F. Dakota II* or Dakota III*; Also: Taylor’s & Co. Smoke Wagon, Cattleman, Gambler, Cattleman 12-Shot, Runnin’ Iron, Taylor Marshall, Drifter, Devil Anse, Old Randall*, and Ranch Hand*;OR ANY OF THE OTHER STANDARD UBERTI “PLOWHANDLE” STYLE PISTOLS. *PLEASE NOTE: if you have a BRASS gripframe (such as found on the Hombre, the Regulator, the Dakota II or III, Old Randall, or Ranch Hand revolvers), you MUST contact us prior to ordering and let us check availability, as these incorporate additional grip requirements and machining cuts. These grips have the proper machining cuts and dimensions for all the other variations listed. What these WILL NOT FIT: 1. Please note that these grips are made to fit ONLY the Uberti Model 1873 style Single Action revolvers, with the typical “plowhandle” shaped gripframe, and will NOT fit other makes of revolvers (such as Pietta, Armi San Marco, Colt, Ruger, etc.). These grips will also NOT fit the Bisley, the Birdshead, the Thunderer or the Lightning style revolvers, from ANY maker, which use a completely different shaped grip frame. Please email if you have any questions.2. In addition, these WILL NOT FIT grip frames which are around 3-1/2” tall. To make sure you are ordering the correct grip, please check your grip frame measurement prior to ordering. Your grips or grip frame should measure somewhere between 3-1/16 – 3-1/8” tall, depending on how you hold your ruler, tape, or caliper. The important thing is to make sure they are NOT around 3-1/2” tall. Taylor & Co.’s Gunfighter, the El Patron Grizzly Paw, and the Uberti Callahan, for example, have the taller (3-1/2” tall) grip frame. If you have one of these, our Uberti 1860 Army Conversion & Metallic Cartridge revolver grips will work for these. Please contact us for further details if you are interested in custom fitting. 10312000 Arizona Custom Grips About our exclusive Magna-Tusk™ “Hi-Grade” Ivory Grips: Our Ivory grips, an exclusive of Arizona Custom Grips, are made out of a premium high-grade, ultra-high density ivory material (Magna-Tusk™), designed from the ground up as a premium grip material to greatly improve on the inherent fragility and weakness of the cheaper Bonded Ivory used on just about all factory and regular aftermarket ivory grips today. Standard Bonded Ivory is brittle, and tends to weaken and develop stress fractures over time with repeated use, firing, and handling. Magna-Tusk™ is capable of withstanding the heaviest recoil and impact, and is the toughest alternative Ivory grip material available today, while still retaining the pristine look of real ivory. These grips are not cast or made out of an inferior, lightweight material, but are heavy and dense, carefully milled out of a solid block, one at a time. Magna-Tusk is completely rock-solid, stable, and water, chemical, and oil resistant. It is flame and heat resistant, will not melt like Urethane or plastic, and is entirely void-free, with over 10x the strength, durability, and impact resistance of alternative materials. Unlike with real ivory, there is no routine care and maintenance involved, with no danger of it drying out and cracking if not maintained properly or if left in the heat. It is produced with outstanding aesthetic properties and mechanical performance. When aged with our exclusive aging process, it takes on the equivalent of a 100-year-old patina, with subtle grain details which most experts cannot tell apart from the real thing. In addition, the material has a fine grain structure, which holds intricate detail for carvings, artistic relief work, etc., found on many historic grips. About Our Aging Process: We go to great efforts to ensure that our Aged Ivory not only looks similar to real aged ivory, but in fact looks identical to the real thing. Our Magna-Tusk blanks will produce an aged Ivory grip unlike any other material made today. Through our slow aging process, these grips become beautifully mottled, variegated, and weathered just like old, antique Ivory, and incorporate other authentic details found on original old Ivory as seen on many of the revolvers which belonged to gunfighters and lawmen of the Old West. As with real aged Ivory, no two are exactly the same. Our process produces an authentic appearance and genuine patina which extends deep into the surface. Not only does this give it the appearance of authenticity and depth, but this surface will not chip, crack, or peel like a superficially applied coating. With Magna-Tusk aged grips, most experts cannot tell them apart from a decades-old or even a centuries-old original. While the quality difference is somewhat noticeable in the photos, the difference is even more apparent when seen and handled in person.
